"CCI Australia convenor stands in solidarity with the victims of the devastating fires in Victoria on Saturday 7 February," Convenor Kevin Vaughan said today.

"We are shocked by the intensity of the heat that day and the holocaust inflicted by the fires on so many people.

"We are further shocked with the news that some fires may have been deliberately lit.

"We are also in gratitude to the emergency workers, many of them volunteers who have responded so willingly to these tragic events and we are ready to do what may be necessary to support the people who have lost family, friends and their homes and all of their possessions.

"May God have mercy on all of thoes who have suffered so much on that day."
